Tell your stories

"What is history, when the reporter does not record and the camera does not see? We walked this land. We worked this land. Our bones are in this land. Find our history and tell it."
- Ancestors in the Americas Narrator

The ANCESTORS IN THE AMERICAS series provides a broad overview of early Asian American history -- a history which is made up of thousands of individual and family stories. Many of these stories were never recorded or told, or they have not been told from the perspective of the people who lived it. As the narrator of the series challenges: "Find our history and tell it".

This section was created to provide a unique way to tell more of the stories of our Asian ancestors in the Americas -- the first to arrive from all the Asian Pacific countries. We hope to create online a permanent archive for anyone interested in learning more about the many personal stories that collectively make up the history of Asians in the Americas. Through this archive, these stories can be told without interpretation or censorship, directly to the people of the Americas and the world who visit this site.
